For me there was no lightbulb moment of becoming fitter and exercising, but subliminally I do believe that years of not being comfortable in my own skin, lacking energy and always wishing to have a better, fitter body had taken its toll. When I began to exercise in a structured and focussed way, having to get up at 5.30am to fit it into my family and working day, my energy levels rocketed, excess weight fell off me and I felt glorious - the memory of which is still tangible. Thus began my love affair with exercise and fitness, which has often been a mis-matched affair - plagued by injury, self-doubt (in bucket-loads), family crises, and long periods where exercise took a very back seat. Aches and pains diminished, and I began connecting with my body on a completely new level, amazed how it responded so gratefully and positively to both challenge and gentle handling, and to being treated in a respectful and understood way. My confidence grew and at the age of 42 I loved my body – lumps, bumps and all.
I feel like I’ve found my second skin. Offering Personal Training is so much more than giving you exercise ideas and encouraging you to do them ( the right way!)..it is about supporting you in discovering yourself and how much more there is within you to be utilised, loved and challenged. And for the special population of the pregnant or post-natal mum, I have a wealth and passion of experience and knowledge that can make this challenge for your body a journey of discovery and joy.
An over simplified telling, but the story is that there is the potential in us all to achieve whatever we aspire to achieve, and that means the possibilities are endless. For me...For you.
